Travel schedule

Organized trip to Egypt departing from Heraklion on November 16, 2026 and returning on November 23, 2026. Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan and visiting Cairo and Alexandria.

Day 1: Heraklion - Luxor

Flight via Athens to Luxor and boarding the cruise ship. Visits to Luxor and Karnak Temples. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2: West Bank of the Nile - Esna

Guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Epitaph Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Entrance to Tutankhamun's tomb is not included. Lunch and dinner on board, sailing to Esna and overnight.

3rd day: Etfou - Komobo

Breakfast and Nile cruise. Visit to the temple of Horus in Etfou and a guided tour of the double temple of Komobo, dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Dinner, entertainment and overnight on board.

Day 4: Aswan - Optional Abu Simbel excursion

Breakfast and sailing to Aswan. Optional road trip to the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari in Abu Simbel with an English-speaking guide, with an additional cost of €100. Return to Aswan, dinner, entertainment and overnight on board.

Day 5: Aswan - Cairo

Transfer to the airport and flight to Cairo. Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Stops at papyrus and perfume workshops, lunch at a local restaurant and check-in at the hotel. Tour of Khan El Khalil bazaar and overnight stay.

Day 6: Cairo - Citadel - Old Cairo

Breakfast and guided tour of Citadel Fort, Muhammad Ali Alabaster Mosque and Sultan Hassan Mosque. Visit to Old Cairo, the Holy Temple of Saint George and the National Museum of Egyptian Culture (NMEC), with the royal mummies. Lunch at local restaurant, as per included.

7th day: Alexandria

Breakfast and full day excursion to Alexandria. Inside tour of the new Library, getting to know the Greek Patriarchate, the Greek parish, the Kite Bay fortress and the house of Constantine Cavafy. Lunch at a restaurant and return to Cairo for an overnight stay.

8th day: Cairo - Heraklion

Transfer to the airport and return flight via Athens to Heraklion.

Egypt visa and gratuities payable locally. The form says €80 and "gratuities per day", without a clear breakdown; payment method confirmation required.
Optional excursion to Abu Simbel: €100.
Entrance to the interior of the Pyramids.
Wi-Fi on the cruise.
Entrance to Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
Anything not expressly stated in the inclusions.

General information

Dates: November 16–23, 2026. Departure from Heraklion via Athens.

Reservation: Advance payment of €500, after the declaration of participation, to finalize the reservation and the offer.

Travel documents according to the program: Passport valid for at least 6 months after return. Holders of non-Greek passports should contact the relevant embassy for visa procedures.

Rooms and special requests: The choice of double or twin beds depends on hotel availability. Allergies, dietary needs, medication and mobility problems are reported promptly. Special dietary requests cannot be guaranteed. Seats on the coach are rotated.

Check before publication: The dates and daily schedule correspond to 8 days / 7 nights (4 on the cruise and 3 in Cairo), while the included form says 4 nights in Cairo and 4 on the cruise. Duration listed based on flights and daily schedule and requires confirmation. Cover says All Inclusive, but full board included on cruise; no drinks included documented. Also need clarification on the €80 fee for visas and tips. The entrance to Tutankhamen's tomb was listed as not included, in accordance with the form's express exception.
