Geographic expedition to Antarctica starting from Argentina, sailing between icebergs and getting to know the wild life of the polar region. Mission leader: Maria Kavadia.

1st day | 15/03/2027: Athens / Thessaloniki - Buenos Aires

Depart for Buenos Aires via an intermediate station. The detailed flight schedule concerns departure from Athens. Departure from Thessaloniki after information about the price.

2nd day | 16/03/2027: Buenos Aires - Guided tour

Arrival and transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Tour of Recoleta and Palermo, with a visit to the Recoleta Cemetery and Evita Peron's burial monument. Route from the 9th of July Avenue, the Obelisk and the Colon Theater. Stop at Congress Square and continue to May Square, with the Cathedral, the old City Hall and the Casa Rosada. Passing through San Telmo and colorful Boca, with El Caminito. Pick up rooms after the tour and rest.

3rd day | 17/03/2027: Buenos Aires - Ushuaia

After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport and flight to Ushuaia. Walk to the picturesque harbor, time for equipment shopping and seafood dinner at a port restaurant.

4th day | 18/03/2027: Ushuaia - Boarding

Boarding the m/s ORTELIUS and sailing from Ushuaia. Sailing the Beagle Channel towards Antarctica.

5th-13th day | 19-27/03/2027: Cruise to Antarctica

Crossing the Drake Passage to South Shetland and the Antarctic Peninsula. Icebergs, glaciers and penguin colonies make up the polar landscape, with the possibility of whales, seals and sea elephants. Depending on the local weather conditions, there are special zodiac boat visits to selected points of interest and photo stops. Lectures by expert scientists, presentations and projections related to the region frame the trip. Sighting of the Northern Lights is a possibility and not guaranteed.

14th day | 28/03/2027: Ushuaia - Buenos Aires

Morning arrival in Ushuaia, disembarkation and transfer to the airport for the flight to Buenos Aires. Installation at the hotel. In the evening tango show with dinner.

15th day | 29/03/2027: Buenos Aires - Free day

Free time for the Florida boardwalk, Puerto Madero or optional visit to the MALBA museum. Alternatively, an optional full-day excursion to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay is suggested.

16th day | 30/03/2027: Buenos Aires - Return flight

Breakfast and time for a walk in the city. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and return flight to Greece via an intermediate station.

17th day | 31/03/2027: Arrival in Greece

Arrival in Athens. For connection to Thessaloniki, confirmation of the respective itinerary is required.

Useful information and terms

Dates: 15-31 March 2027. Embarkation on 18/03 and disembarkation on 28/03: 10 nights on board. The 16 nights of the total trip include 4 nights in hotels and 2 on international flights.

Early booking: €12,590 per person in a double room with taxes and fees, until 15/10/2026 according to the cover. The BONUS PRICE applies to a limited number of seats and is valid while available. No price listed after deadline.

Departure: Athens. Departure from Thessaloniki is also available, price upon request.

Reservation: Immediate advance payment of €3,500 and repayment by 31/12/2026.

Cancellations

From registration until 31/12/2026: €3,500.
From 01/01/2027 to 09/02/2027: €7,900.
From 10/02/2027 until departure: 100%.

Travel documents according to the program: Passport with at least 6 months validity from the day of departure from the destination country and at least 2 blank pages.

Physical state: Good physical condition is required.
