MADRID CHRISTMAS NEW YEAR

Madrid is a city that combines the grandeur of the Spanish capital with the vibrancy of a modern European metropolis. On this 5-day trip, you will get to know its most characteristic aspects: the grand boulevards, the historic squares, the atmospheric districts, its intense cultural life and of course the famous Prado Museum, one of the most important art museums in the world.

The program is enriched with two separate excursions: to Toledo, the historic "city of three cultures", and to medieval Segovia, with the impressive Roman Aqueduct and the fairytale Alcázar. A complete journey to the heart of Castile, ideal for those who want to experience Spain through art, history, architecture, gastronomy and the authentic atmosphere of Madrid.

1st Day | Athens - Madrid
Meeting at "Eleftherios Venizelos" airport and direct flight to Madrid with Aegean Airlines. The impressive capital of Spain dominates the central plateau of the Iberian Peninsula. Arrival, transfer and check-in at the hotel. The afternoon is free for a first acquaintance with the city, walking along the famous Gran Vía, the historical one Plaza Mayor and the crowded one Puerta del Sol.Optional Panoramic Tour: Suggested panoramic tour with our leader in Madrid of the Bourbons, the northern districts with the stadium Santiago Bernabéu, the Puerta de Europa, the bullring Plaza de Toros, the Plaza Colón, the Plaza de España with the Cervantes monument, the Egyptian Debod monument and the Retiro Park. Overnight.

2nd Day | Madrid (Prado Museum, Barrio de las Letras & Historic Center)
In the morning we visit it Museo del Prado, one of the most important art galleries in the world (guaranteed entry & Greek speaking tour). With over 10,000 works, it hosts masterpieces by El Greco, Velathketh, Goya, etc. Next, we tour the bohemian quarter Barrio de las Letras, where personalities such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Lorca lived. Our tour ends in the heart of Habsburg Madrid. In the afternoon, we recommend a visit to the aristocratic district Salamanca with its luxury boutiques, cafes in Plaza Oriente overlooking the Royal Palace or a stop for hot chocolate at Chocolatería San Ginés. In the evening, optional watching traditional Flamenco. Overnight.

3rd Day | Madrid – Toledo – Madrid (GIFT TRIP)
Morning excursion to Toledo, the "city of three cultures" (Christian, Arab, Jewish). We will tour the medieval streets, the Jewish Quarter and its church Santo Tome, where El Greco's masterpiece dominates"The Burial of Earl Orgath". Then we will visit the imposing Cathedral of the city with works by El Greco, Titian and Caravaggio. Before returning to Madrid, we will visit a workshop Damasquinado (traditional Toledoan art of steel carving). Overnight.

4th Day | Madrid – Segovia – Madrid (FREE EXCURSION)
Morning excursion to Segovia (UNESCO Monument). We will admire the iconic Roman Aqueduct of the 1st AD century, the fairytale castle-palace Alcázar de Segovia, the Jewish Quarter and the Gothic Cathedral. Be sure to try the local culinary specialties, such as the traditional cochinillo (suckling pig). Late afternoon return to Madrid. Overnight.

5th Day | Madrid - Athens
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Madrid airport and boarding the direct Aegean Airlines flight to Athens.
